What Americans Think of Other US States

America can be a patriotic place, but at other times you get the feeling that we are talking about 50 very different countries rather than one big unified one. After all how much in common does a New Yorker have with someone from Iowa?  Probably not too much, aside from football and thanksgiving. Given how diverse the country is, and how wide apart it spreads geographically it is no wonder that people are very different – and that folks living at one state have some preconceived notions about other states. The following poll by Business Insider tried to dig deeper into this issue and observe the stereotypes that Americans have about other states. The results were then displayed on a US map.
